Bell Array Blue / Blue Small Road Helmet Product Description:
- Insane ventilation, great fit and exceptional styling never looked so good and cost so little
- Deeply sculpted ventilation channels on the interior of the helmet liner brings cool air in through the front, passes it over the head and flushes warm air out of the rear ports to keep the air moving no matter whether you are bombing it at 30 mph, or huffing it uphill at single digit speed
- The Twin Axis Gear (TAG) fit system adjusts to your head on two axes, firstly for head circumference and then horizontally to better accommodate the position of your occipital lobe, (the sticky-out bit on the back of your head!)
- For added comfort the TAG arms are co-moulded with soft rubber resulting in the most adjustable, comfortable and easy-to-use fit system ever
- In-moulding is the process of bonding the helmet micro shell to its EPS foam layer to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet, allowing lighter weight design and bigger vents with no loss of strength
- This process was pioneered by Bell and is now the industry standard for all high-end helmets
- All this technology, plus super comfy padding make the Array float on the head, leaving the rider free to focus on the road ahead
- Meets CE EN1078 certification

Good but in need of improvement
By Loaf Life to the Full
This is a very comfortable, lightweight, well ventilated helmet. The medium size just fits my 59.5cm head with only two small clicks of the rear ratchet needed from wide open to snug it down. It does not move around on my head when I go over bumps on my bike, sweat doesn't get in my eyes, and nothing digs into parts of my face as with some (much pricier) helmets. Two gripes though. Firstly, the finish of the helmet is a bit slipshod, with parts of the polystyrene lining showing on the surface of the helmet where they shouldn't be visible.Secondly, and more seriously, the detachable front cushioning pad is already coming to pieces after less than a month's use, and the tiny velcro pads inside the helmet that this pad attaches to are working loose. Apparently the outer layer of the cushioning pad is only held to the main body of the pad with some kind of adhesive and, guess what, this adhesive is water- and/or heat-soluble. This is not just not sensible, it is unforgiveable. All in all it strongly suggests that this helmet is made down to a price rather than up to a minimum standard. This is a pity because Bell (or rather the Chinese factory that makes the helmets) have spoiled an otherwise excellent helmet by neglecting a small but significant detail.

Great bell hellmet
By David Guest
I bought this helmet to match my TT bike colour. I have 2 other helmets both giro. I have been using giro helmets for many years but the review on this helmet was so good and the price 1/3 of my current giro helmets that I was tempted. I have to say Iam very impressed it fits very well and keeps me cool. I suffer with the heat which is why I have always bought the top end giro helemts. This bell helmet is proving to be just as good. I do 10 mile time trials and do not suffer at all. Very pleased and will certainly by another one when one of others is due for replacement.

Roundheads take note!
By swl10
I like the look of this helmet but one of the main benefits for me is that I can fit into a medium instead of needing a large. Most brands of helmet have a narrower, longer design that won't fit on my round head unless I buy a larger size. This one ensures I don't look too top-heavy.The other good thing about this one is that it has detachable padding (stuck with velcro) so you can remove and wash it, many brands now have integrated leather (or leather-like) padding. The only negative is the flimsy nature of the plastic adjustment band - this seems to have been a weak point on my previous Giro helmet as it became brittle and snapped after a few years.I have no trouble trusting this brand for safety - I lost a chunk out of a different model of Bell helmet a few years ago when I hit a kerbstone head-first - I'm still here to write a review.
