This clock is quartz and so far is very accurate. The light sensor is very sensitive so will continue to chime in a room if any light reaches it from the hallway etc. You can turn the chime off. It would have been nice to have an option for a single chime on the hour instead of the number of hours (eg, 12pm gets 12 cuckoos). That is my only criticism,it looks lovely, has a nice cuckoo chime and is nicely made. Was sent quickly and packaged well.
