Product Description

The Pure Fitness & Sports Home Gym is a cost effective gym machine that uses bodyweight exercises to effectively exercise large muscle groups to enhance your natural upper body strength and help build gains in muscle mass. The angled pull up bar can be used to target your lats and back depending on your grip, wide grip pull ups engage your lats to focus on increasing width however chin ups are superb for exercising the biceps and middle back. The PS400 can be used to perform dips, these are vital for chest and tricep development, perseverance is essential for dips, repetitions will be low at first but overtime they'll increase in synchrony with your strength. Core strength can also be increased with knee / leg raises. Leg raises can be difficult to achieve at first so knee raises are a good platform to build your core at first until your ready to increase the difficulty, leg raises mainly focus on the stubborn lower ab region but work your full core to some extent. Conventional press up handles have also been added to the base of the PS400 for an additional bodyweight chest exercise. Integrating all of these bodyweight movements into your weekly training routine will benefit your entire training regime as your natural strength increases so will your key weight training exercises to help your body progress to its full potential with the Pure Fitness & Sports Power Tower Home Gym.

5Solid
By J. L. S. Dignand
So I guess my main reservation when buying this was "is it going to be a wobbly piece of cheap home gym equipment I eventually stop using?". Errr.... no. First of all it's a big kid's dream because it's like a massive mechano kit and really quite easy to put together, I think it says you need two people to put it together but you don't, one person can do it easily but it will take about an hour and you'll need two socket sets.Using it is a dream, it's rock solid with no wobble at all. I weigh just under 80kgs and it has a 100kg limit but my pal who is about 140kgs, did a few reps on it and it didn't flex at all. It's great for:-- dips i.e. chest and triceps- chin ups i.e. back and biceps- leg raises i.e. abs and hip flexors- raised press up i.e. chest, triceps and coreI'm nothing to do with the manufacturer but think the product is great. I'd recommend it to my personal training clients for an excellent upper body workout at home.Hope you enjoy it.

5Pull up and Dip Machine
By J. M. Powney
The quality of the article for the cost was amazing, this machine would not be out of place in any large professional gym, never mind for home use.

4Framed!
By E. Granter
For pull ups at home, you have three basic choices: doorframe bars of some sort, frames that are permanently mounted on the wall, or these types of frames. For me, these are the best balance between robustness and flexibility in terms of location. Crucially, it is not too high so it can be used in areas with limited ceiling height, such as garages.I have been using this model for 11 weeks and it is proving to be well worth the money. It is stable enough and the pull up bar has a reassuringly rigid feel. The press up uption is less successful because you can't go all the way down without hitting your head on the bottom cross beam, but you can still use it to an extent. The dip option is fine and feels stable.Easy enough to assemble with a couple of spanners or similar. I managed to strip one of the bolts of most of its thread but there are enough other ones so that it does not have a noticeable effect - it is still hand tight anyway. You can't swing about like mad on the pull up bar like you can on the ones at the gym that are wall mounted or really high up (you will clip the VKR backrest), but in a way it's better to do the exercise in a controlled manner. The back pad and arm pads for the vertical knee raises, again, aren't luxuriously padded but they're sufficient if sensibly used. I have found a rubber grip - old pushbike inner tube cut lengthways and wound round - is a good addition to the p/u bar (do this at your own risk obviously).A good value option that is satisfying to use.UPDATE: One year later (November 2012) it is in a new house having been taken apart and reassembled. I think I've stripped the thread off another bolt (!) but it still feels absolutely fine to use. Now it's in the spare room instead of in the garage there is even more headroom.
