Product Description
This Capricorn Double Guest Bed, or Trundle bed as it is sometimes known, is one of the most popular beds around. The reason for this is simply that it can be used as either a single bed or a double bed or as twin beds as both sections are the same height, with very little effort.
The steel frame of this Double guest bed is extremely strong and very durable meaning that is it suitable for all sizes and ages. The wonderful thing about this guest bed is that it comes in two separate halves so that you can decide whether or not to use the bed as a single or a double bed. The legs of the second half of the bed frame can be folded up and the whole section can be neatly stored away under the main bed. This second section is a steel framed rollaway bed (which is delivered pre assembled), and is always ready for that extra visitor.
Both sections of the double guest bed have strong, sprung wooden slats adding an extra degree of comfort. This bed frame can be purchased either with or without mattresses for both halves of the bed by selecting from the options above. The available mattresses are 4-5 inches thick, flame retardant core and covers which are washable , offering you extreme levels of comfort.

Sorry for the long review...I bought this bed (with guest bed) as we have a very small spare room and not too much space to waste.I had a 'divan-type' bed and guest bed before which was rather flimsy and creaked a lot when adult guests were on it (rather worrying really), so decided I wanted something more solid with slatted bases for comfort, and wanted to use my own matresses as default ones are usually bad.The bed came with some assembly required, but all in all quite easy (1 person with limited strength can put it together), and all the parts fitted very well.Once built, it's really nice and sturdy, and while not being the most beautiful bed ever it does look neat and simple. The slatted bases are comfortable (it doesn't come with matresses, so what you choose will make a difference), and the underneath bed has little castors to roll in and out easily and it goes up and down quite easily too, and still feels sturdy when up, so I won't be scared to let even larger members of my family sleep on it when they visit - it's a very simple mechanism so there's no risk of it folding or moving overnight.The part missing in the description of the item is the clearance between the lower bed and the main bed when folded - we have a 8" (20cm) thick mattress which fits well, so it's not too small and you are not limited to tiny foam matresses - it's a full size single matress as well (not a short or narrow one as with some guest beds), and when up, both beds have the same size.The delivery was fast too (I ordered Sunday afternoon and it arrived Tuesday), so I'm very pleased with it.

pros:cheapest practical guest bed we foundgenuine two single beds storing in space of onecons:in reality, looks like something from a hospital or prisonthe wheels on the sliding bed stick out when the bed in used, just at shin height!will never form a true double bed - always a large gap between each single mattressmake sure you follow the instructions or it's a pain to put together!

items easy to put together. They are matched in height if using the same height mattresses on each. easy to pull out and raise to make either twin beds, or pushed together to make one king size bed. Space saver if one bed is left under the other. Using valance, looks just like a single bed. I use thicker mattresses than recommended, and small bracket on top bed just catches mattress when pushing bed back under. Easily remedied by lifting top bed about 3 inches when rolling under bed back.
