The 'Allergon' duvet protector fits over your duvet and under your usual duvet/quilt cover. The soft 100% cotton terry upper surface absorbs moisture, the breathable, undetectable waterproof layer stops this moisture from reaching your duvet, avoiding the stains caused by spills, perspiration etc. The protector provides a complete dust mite proof barrier. when buying this product i thought it would make me sweat or be too hot but it's really surprised me to no end it keeps you sweat free, it's airy, as in light and does do the job of protecting your duvet, washes really well too on e of the best products iv'e bought in ages, very well thought of product by the makers,we love it and it keeps your duvet in place and doesn't go out of shape at all, just love it.

Added this to a relatively light duvet and the first thing that is noticeable is that it adds extra insulation - I reckon another couple of togs (whatever a tog is) to the point where it's almost too warm at this time of the year. The zip makes it very easy to put on and take off, and the cover adds a satisfactory 'rustling' sound to proceedings. Don't know if it has had any health benefits yet, but it can't do any harm ;-)
