The best case I've ever purchased
By Mr. T. F. Norton
I spent an awfully long time deciding on the components for my new build. You see, I'm quite tight with my money. It's not that I won't spend money, just that I demand maximum value for my money at all times, and this is especially true in the world of computing. I spent about a month sifting through reviews for every component. I plumped for this case and Antec CP-850 - Power supply ( internal ) - ATX12V 2.3/ EPS12V 2.91 - AC 100-240 V - 850 Watt - active PFC - United Kingdom (which I've also reviewed). They are the best purchases I've ever made in their respective areas. What was I looking for in my case? Well, first of all, it has to look good. By good, I mean that I'm avoiding "pimp-my-computer" AT ALL COSTS. I want something that isn't ugly, but more importantly has a level of discreetness (for example, no ridiculous LEDs). This case it that. It's the Audi of computer cases - understated elegance with plenty of substance under the bonnet.Inside the case, broadly you have two compartments: an upstairs and a downstairs. The downstairs section houses the PSU and up to four HDDs. There are holes available for you to send the various PSU cables through, however, if you're careful, you won't need to. While this case will accept any PSU, the PSU I've referenced above is designed to fit this case exactly (along with P193 and 1200 series). This means that you can wire the cables behind the motherboard, out of sight, and each cable reaches its intended recipient exactly. It's a very simple, beautiful solution, and what's more, you have a tangible benefit: no visible cables means better air ventilation and thus lower operating temperatures. If you do use another PSU, the cables might not reach without extensions, or you might be forced into routing your cables over hardware. The other thing I like is that since the PSU is in the bottom of the case, the centre of gravity is lower and so the case is very stable. As I said, the downstairs compartment also houses up to four HDDs in a rack, which can be removed if necessary - however you'll quickly find that this should be your default location for disk drives. In the larger upstairs compartment, you house the motherboard, a second rack that can fit another two disk drives, and space for up to 4 DVD drives and a floppy drive (or front panel for connections, or a seventh HDD if need be). Again, the second rank is also removable. This is of more interest, as if you have a long graphics card (and I'm thinking of HD5870 or HD5970 proportions), it might not fit unless the rack is removed. I have an HD5850, and it fits just fine. As a bonus, you can also custom fit extra fans to the racks to help improve ventilation if your set up warrants it.When on, the unit is almost silent. Because of it's brilliant design, unless you're using two high end graphics cards and needing high end cooling solutions for extreme overclocking (and I do neither currently), the two built-in fans need only run at their lowest setting, which is very quiet. In fact, they're virtually inaudible. On top of this, the disk drives are mounted with vibration-dampeners, and so mechanical disks are (a) better protected when the unit is in transport, and (b) less audible when in use.To round it off, it feels very well made. There's a quality feel to the design. This case is built to last.To summarise, it's quite an expensive case, but it's also the best case I've ever come across. If you do buy one of these and you need a PSU too, then buy the CP-850 (above) to go with it.If you don't feel you can justify the price, then a more moderate suggestion is Elite 330 Mid Tower Chassis. I bought one of these for my brother, and it's an excellent entry level case, albeit with less space. Unlike the PSU, this gets 5 stars (where I rated the PSU mentioned at 4) because any PSU can be fitted to this case, whereas the PSU does not have the same level of compatibility.

Great Case
By chuangtzu
I bought this as part of my little project to quieten down my PC. It was recommeded by quietPC review. The case comes in a vast box and as always, was delivered very swiftly by Amazon. Its an expensive case and so unless you are going to go for broke with the silencing it may be a little priceyThe case is very sturdy and is really well made. there is nothing flimsy or badly designed about it. I love the power supply being in its own chamber and you can route all of the cables, etc round the back of the case and keep them out of the main chassis. The drives and such have removable drawers which makes fitting really easily and the optical drives snap in from the front beautifully - with no screw mounts needed. The fans are pretty quiet - I don't use the top fan as I have a Zalman Cooler which makes this unnecessary. I may still change the back fan i I can get a quiet one. There are big rubber feet on the base and the sides are very well insulated.Fitting the components is fairly easy but this is a big and heavy case and carrying it upstairs after completion was a bit of a hike!I can definately recommend this case and I ofset the cost because when I come to upgrade the MB in the future, etc I hope to be still using this case.Made my old Maplin case look extremely flimsy!

One of the best cases I've tried...
By Robert A. Litcan
Got this case for a work computer 3 years ago, and still very happy with it. Amasing case, for a computer maniac. Over the last 15 years, I built lots of computers with different major brand cases, and this one is def in my top 3. Really good for 24/24hrs working computers, and very easy to access everything without removing any parts. After 3 years, filters on the outside are full of dust, but the inside is like new. Mine has 3 big fans with adjustable speed. A bit more difficult to setup (not for a beginner), cabbles are hidden behind the MB. Note to the other reviewer: try useing the fans lowest speed, you have three choices. And try finding the noise source, sometimes the videocard/processor/source fan are making much bigger noise in the computer, not the case itself. If you own a Ferrari, this doesn't make you a good driver.
