Simply an excellent pen
By Dr. Geoffrey Bailey
This pen is of excellent quality, as expected having read all I could find on this particular model and having used Parker fountain pens for many years. A beautiful writing experience with a pen that looks very classy and feels so right in the hand.

Not An Easy Choice
By Bookworm
I spent ages looking online for a good quality, reliable pen and settled on the Duofold because it was the top of the range from Parker, and most reviews gave it a glowing report. However the whole business is fraught. This pen is surprisingly lightweight, which although nice to use, doesn't give that indefinable air of quality that I expected. If you've spent your life driving Fords or Vauxhalls, then go and treat yourself to a Jaguar, siting in the latter you can feel the quality that you have paid extra for. Whereas with the Parker Duofold, it's not easy to see where the money has gone. Then there's the nib. I chose medium because various websites said the medium suits 80% of users. Well this Parker's medium seems very thick, so much so that after writing on a page, you have to leave it quite sometime to dry, and the writing looks far from neat & tidy. Then there's Parker service. The small booklet that comes with the pen says if you want to exchange the nib for a narower or broader one, it can be done through any Parker dealer free of charge. My experience is that unless you have bought the pen from them (at sometimes 50 to 75% increase in price over online), they don't really want to know. Put another way, if you want what is really a basic service, you must expect to pay a lot of money for it. Sadly my advice is to go High Street browsing to find the fountain pen that suits, then buy online. Even online the price differential are surprising (£160 at one end, £250 at the other)UPDATE: I've now had the Duofold for some months, and despite the mediocre service, I'm completely sold on it. Now having finally got a narrower nib, it writes beatifully every time. I wanted a top quality pen that would last me a lifetime, and despite trials and tribulations, I've found it in the Parker Duofold.
