5Pro printer that has such excellent output thoroughly recomended
By Mr. D. G. EDWARDS-LOARING
Saw this printer at Ipex 2010, thought it was awesome. Ordered and got one via Amazon. Produces excellent prints, black and White images are fantastic. Printing is slow but as a profesional photographer I know slow is best. Comes with photo printing bundle that is excellent and works consistantly with Photoshop . I would recomend this printer for anyone who is serious about their photography and want studio proof prints. Canon's new dye inks give awesome results. If you want a reliable printer buy this one.

5canon pixma pro 9500 mk2
By bob stuart
I have used an epson stylus R800 for a number of years for printing photographs, chosen for its multiple inks, and found that although good it was very expensive on inks and the heads were always requiring cleaning, which wasted ink. When it finally could no longer clean the heads and the photos were stripey I looked around for an alternative and the Canon Pixma 9500 pro MK 2 came highly recommended. It has been amazing. It is incredibly quiet, it has printed many A3 photographs and the ink levels have barely moved except for the grey cartridge. The colours are vibrant and I can now see the detail that my Nikon D300 is capable of, A3 prints bring out detail totally lost in an A4 print. I am very pleased with it and quality printing is now routine without having to waste ink and time on constant head cleaning.

5Canon Pixma Pro 9500 Mark 1
By Mr. M. J. Hinds
I chose the Canon 9500 (mark 1) after directly comparing it with the HP9180 and Epson 2880 using a test file. nb the annual Focus on Imaging at NEC is well worth the entrance fees to do this sort of comparison. The differences were small and your preference could easily be different to mine. However, the quality of prints I got when I started using it at home were superb - so only minor complaints (eg rather noisy clunks when it starts grabbing the paper and expensive ink). What is worth commenting on is that for complicated reasons it was turned off about a year ago and left unused. I asked the Canon tech at FOI this Spring what should I expect when I restarted it (!) as I was concerned that the pigments would have settled out and blocked everything requiring a major set of cartridge and nozzle replacements. In practice I just ran a nozzle clean and everything is back up just as good as before. So, I recommend it as a professional piece of kit.
