5Beast!
By Marduk
I highly recommend this processor, considering that the price of i7 extreme is "only" £700. You would save £500 and still get a high performance (for today's day's) brain of pc.i7 gives us 8-way multi-task processing, Turbo boost technology (up to 3.40 ghz if I'm right) and three-year's limited warranty.

4Great price but not that impressive!
By TheAMG
This is a great processor. Very fast. Running it in the following spec building:P6T ASUS Motherboard12 GB DDR3The processor comes with the retail box; not mentioned in the above description; comes with a fan too. It is very loud. Overall I am impressed having previously had a Q800 Intel Quad. The fact is that if your going to fork out this much for a CPU you might as well pay the extra £30 and get the new Sandybridge series. Otherwise, I am happy with it. Pretty fast.

5Brilliant processor
By Uncle Audrey
When used with the Antec Kuhler watercolling solution, this processor rarely gets above 25°C in normal use, and over-clocking doesn't get it above 40°C. Seems capable of handling most tasks thrown at it, 3DMark vantage got it to stutter at around 2500 simultaneous operations. I haven't found a game yet which it can't handle and photoshop runs like a dream.
