Have you ever wanted to go ice skating one minute then roller blading the next but you can not afford to buy a pair of boots for each occasion? Then this is the solution for you. The boot is adjustable in size. The mechanism to adjust the size of the shoe is easy to change and does not require much effort. The sizes are generous and each boot has 4 different size adjustments. I have a size 4 shoe and managed to fit into the 2.5 size setting (although I did change it to 4 and found that just as comfy).The boot is made of a hard plastic shell with a soft inner boot but is still lighter than many roller blades that I have used in the past but still provides plenty of support. The boot is fastened by lace, velcro and clip and when used feel extremely secure.The boot uses an averaged sized wheel (you can get smaller and you can get larger) and an average hardness of wheel (there are softer and harder wheels available). This makes the skate perfect for recreational use on tarmac and do not make much noise when using them. The bearings are the second best you can get which provides the wheels to turn smoothly. The wheels can be changed for other wheels if you would like to change the type of wheel you have or if you wear these ones out. Changing the wheels is a doddle and just takes minutes to change.The ice blade attachment was what worried me the most. I was scared that it would not be sharp enough, or that it was not the correct shape. Thankfully when I used it on the ice I found it to be sharp and held the ice well. I have never owned my own boots before but comparing to some of the boots you can rent at ice rinks I found these to hold the ice better than the majority.The most challenging part to this boot is changing the attachments from one to the other as they fit snugly and can be a struggle lining up the holes where the bolts go through. The first time I tried to put the ice blades on it took almost an hour. with practice I have now managed to get this down to a quarter of an hour. Putting the wheels was never a problem and took next to no time to attach. The attachment is done by slotting 3 long bolts through the boot and wheel/blade. It is very secure and holds the blade or the wheels on the boot well with no movement.
