You can buy a decent dictaphone for upwards of £20 so why are the Philips ones upwards of £250?Simple: the ones that incorporate a slide switch, such as the 9380 are unquestionabley the best ones available. They work just like the analogue/ tape machines, they are intuitive, very simple to use and overall are good little machines. I couldn't imagine using any other type of dictaphone. I bought mine for a new business and I'm watching all the costs, but this was a worthwhile expense.I've used a slightly different model for about three years and I've never had a problem with it. Make sure you get one with what they call a "travel pouch" this is a protective leather case which gives access to all the functions. I've dropped mine lots of times and it's still fine.I highly recommend this product. The only downside is the software which is fine for a standalone computer but is tricky to set up on a network.I bought mine for much less than its available for on Amazon by shopping around online.
