This is the first cycle carrier I've ever bought/fitted. It's worth setting it up (with the bikes on it), leaving it on the car for 10 minutes, and then re-testing the straps, as the tension will change, with the weight of the bikes on it.Before you set off, make sure that the straps are tied in a knot at the end. Don't just rely on the grips to hold the straps (& carrier) in place, as the contstant bumps on the road will loosen the tension.I've not done a long journey in it yet, furthest is 8 miles, but I'd be wary of taking it on the motorway, and would need to be 100% sure of its stability first.

Superb, robust and user friendly product. Very easy and solid to fit very quickly. unfortunately not suitable for the make of my car. Motionperformance/waxacar were brilliant and very helpful in immediately recalling the product and gave prompt refund.
