Product Description
Homescapes specialises in high quality filled products. Their duvets and pillows can be found in leading hotel groups and also the quality retailers in the UK and elsewhere. All duvets and pillows manufactured by Homescapes are produced in one of the largest factory of the natural pillows and duvets. This factory is also manufacturing for the leading department stores and high street names in the UK. So in effect a Homescapes duvet and pillow is at least as good as the ones available in most respected department stores in the UK like John Lewis or House of Fraser. The basic reasons of this claim rests on use of good fabric, an excellent treatment of the filling and due care and attention in the stitching and filling of the duvets. All fabrics are in a very high thread count, minimum being 233 TC, treated for being down proof and rigorously tested for their performance. The feathers are treated to the European Oekotex standard at a very high temperature and each shipment is accompanied with the quality certification of a proper treatment. This kills all the dust mites and makes these feathers cleaner and healthier than any alternative. Due care is then taken while manufacturing these duvets, all the edges are always stitched with a twin needle sewing machine so the feathers cannot squeeze out . Duvets are stitched in continental style, with a box baffle stitch which means each section is separated with a wall. This makes Homescapes duvets loftier, warmer and an ultimate sleeping experience. The difference compared to a synthetic duvet is amazing. I only have the 9 tog duvet on at the moment, but this is easily as warm as my 12.5 tog synthetic duvet. It's a lot lighter and more flexible too, so falls around you tighter, helping to retain warmth. Build quality is impressive, and there are several poppers along each side to attach the two duvets (unlike only one in each corner as I saw on some other brands).

This duvet does all it says on the packet, good quality construction, useful features such as box construction and machine washable, have only used the two sections together as yet, and because of the current warm weather it is almost two hot! Very competitive price, the best I found on the web, but also the delivery was exceptional, ordered Thursday PM delivered Saturday AM.

After having been most pleased with the 15 TOG Duvet I purchased from Homescapes last Oct. I realised as the weather changed seasons towards the warmer months that my snug-as a bug in a rug- duvet may actually be a little too warm for the summer. Initially I was just going to purchase a lower tog quilt, but was somewhat surprised to find the price difference between a pure summer duvet and this one (which can be used across all 3 seasons) was negligible.So what do you get for your money? Two separate duvets which arrive in their own little plastic carrying case. Which I suppose could be used to store the spare duvet when not in use. The edge of the quilt is double stitched not in the usually way but instead 2 rows about a cm apart which forms a taper where you find the plastic snap fasteners which are used to affix the two duvets together. (I purchased a single duvet of the same category years ago from a prestigious bedding company and it used Velcro patches, which had a habit of coming undone). The fill of the pockets is very generous and unlike other duvets isn't bulky or heavy. The material used is the same as used in their 15 tog quilt and in over 8 months of use I have yet to see any feathers poking through that one so hopefully the same can be said for this one.Well this past weekend has just seen the mercury rise and I got to use the duvet for what it was purchased for. Previously I've slept under just a sheet during the hotter parts of the summer. But for some strange reason I've always felt a little naked doing so. Well no problems with inhibitions came to the fore and I actually managed to enjoy a better nights sleep than the poor cat did, who due to his built in fur court was up most of the night licking himself in which to try and keep cool.ConclusionsA quality Goose feather and down duvet which is just as well constructed as its more expensive rivals but comes in a lot cheaper.
