This is the first water pump I have bought so I did a bit of research and it was a choice between this and the hozelock water butt pump which has loads of excellent reviews. I went for this because it was cheaper.It does work but I found it a bit awkward to get the automatic switch in the right place. The pressure is sufficient for most of my garden tasks such as using my hozelock sprinkler and most of the settings on the spray gun. The ones that require high pressure such as the fine spray setting don't work and using the sprinkler you get less coverage than you would with the mains on full blast. But that is to be expected.Essentially after initial usage it does what it says very effectively. Whether it is better than other pumps or not I can't say, but it is cheaper while still feeling solid and well made.
