Peavey PV10 USB Mixer
By J Blakemore
Peavey PV 10 USBThis simple to use 10 channel USB mixer was delivered very quickly and has already done 3 gigs since the middle of December. It is easy and intuitive to use and the quality really is fantastic; it has a great sound ans is very low noise indeed; all the controls pots and sliders feel like top quality items. It comes with effectively non-functional but comprehensive EVALUATION mixing software called Reaper! It also comes with guitar tube amp modelling software, Revalver MK3. However these are only evaluation copies and we haven't got them to connect as the product serial number does not match the licence serial number input fields on the "activate" section. Beware. Doesn't stop you using the mixer live, but is slightly frustrating. However, I have been using it for band duties including d/i'd bass, electronic drum kit and keyboards, mic'd horns and vox and USB d.j. decks and laptop! Excellent performance all around. The bass and drum reproduction and sound management were particularly impressive. We really didn't expect that.Good compression and tone control and 10 channels in this format is just enough for the balanced and unbalanced inputs I need, may be 12 would have been better - but that was entirely my choice.I even tried a pair of low quality unbalanced mic's just to see what happened, and I managed to get the sound I needed for the horns!!I really am delighted with this desk, especially given its compact size and light weight.Very well done Peavey, bar the software...
