Rolling Camera Case
By Jasper223
I am a professional photographer and have used Lowepro bags for many years, however recently I needed to reduce the weight of equipment I was carrying and thus after much searching selected the Lowepro Pro Roller X100 fo taking the kit out on the road. The bag arrived within a day of order, excellent service from Amazon, the bag was packed well and delivered undamaged. Having unpacked the bag I set about packing it for use, yes if your going to take all your kit with you then the X200 or X300 is probably a better size however I wanted the small bag so it could be used as carry-on luggage on the airline, this bag fits that bill correctly and will be able to go as hand luggage depending on the weight you load into it. In terms of build quality the bag is well built, made from good quality materials and definitely up to Lowepro's normal high standards, the wheels are changeable and thus the life of the bag can be extended. The inserts are of a good density offering plenty of protection for the kit, I have fitted in a Nikon D2, Nikon F4S and 4 lenes of varied sizes, an SB900, a Lightsphere along with battery chargers and leads so enough to shoot out in the field. If I had any criticism it would be the tripod holder, the foot end slips down and sits below the bottom line of the case, thats the only fault I can find in the design, so if you need a bag on wheels then this is one you should definitely look at.Well worth the money.

A case you need to think hard about before buying
By DavidB
If you know Lowepro bags and cases (and you'll see them in almost every photo shop), you'll know the level of quality and design, and this expensive little case is no exception in that regard. The trouble with it is the same as with almost every camera bag/case I've ever owned; it works well on some situations but not in others. This is of course particularly true of a roller case; what is ideal at the airport and at the train station is of no use at all half way up a mountain. The removable back pack that comes with this case is only suitable for occasional use, and you certainly would not want to go hiking with it.Perhaps the best thing about the case is that it doesn't look like a camera case, but like the roller cases that everyone else will be carrying on the aircraft. So it does not draw the attention of fussy airline staff or people who are up to no good. The major limitation is that it is not quite as spacious inside as I would have ideally wished. It's deeper than most backpacks, but not deep enough to hold a large telephoto lens on end; quite a lot of depth is lost to the removable backpack feature, which will be a godsend to people who regularly fly on small regional airliners, but which is of limited usefulness to the rest of us. The laptop compartment is too small for all but smaller laptops and netbooks, and using it may make the case to big to carry on an aircraft. The tripod holder can be used for a monopod, but less securely than I would like. And I haven't found the Sliplock loops (for attaching lens cases to the exterior) promised by the specification.I was able to fit in my basic travelling outfit (2 Canon bodies, 4 'L' series lenses (filter diameter 67mm or 77mm) with hoods attached, flashgun, spare batteries and the usual bits and bobs, with the monopod strapped to the outside of the case), but it was a bit more of a squeeze than I would have liked. With that weight loaded, the case travels well, and the kit is a lot less of a burden on a reasonably smooth rolling surface than it would be in a backpack. Also, the handles on top and bottom allow the full case to be lifted, for example into an overhead rack, reasonably easily. I haven't yet tried the attachment for mounting equipment on the handle, but it's well made, and I'd have no qualms about using the case as an impromptu stand for my flashgun, for example. Of course, it's not suitable for use with a DSLR and a heavy telephoto lens.I bought my Pro Roller x100 second hand from a pro who had found it too small for the range of kit he wanted to carry. That pretty much sums up the issue with this case. If it holds what you want to carry, allows you some flexibility to change your kit, and goes where you want to go, you'll probably get good value from it. If it doesn't, it will be rather an expensive failure. It gets three stars from me, because I believe that it's just as likely to get one star as five stars from you.

Usual Lowepro quality item
By Mr. Ian A. Kennedy
This is a fantastic case the build quality is probably the best you will ever find. The camera holder is removable and can be used as a backpack, while the rolling shell has an extra zip on front so you can use it as a ordinary suitcase. The wheels are the best I've ever found on a case. The telescopic handle is good and strong but I'm not sure of their claim that it could be used as a tripod. The case is a little deep for some airlines when you have a computer in the pouch but can still pass muster if you remove the backpack. It currently carrying my Canon 5D mark III, Canon 100mm IS Macro, Canon 24-70 f/2.8, Canon 70-200 IS f/2.8 II, Canon 100-400, Speedlight 270, Speedlight MR-14EX and GP-E2 gps unit. It will also take my Apple MacBook Pro 15" but it's very tight.
