Easy setup and fantastic performance
By WebInt
We used this to get more from our broadband. We have a talktalk line, and a bt line, with the latter previously only being used as a fallback. This enabled us to bring both broadband lines into use at the same time, which has massively increased our internet performance. It is also configurable enough to drive certain traffic - dns, mysql etc - to particular machines, while sharing loads comfortably for the common ports. It seems to work seamlessly for uploads too, which surprised us, as I had expected FTP traffic to have issues, but there have been none at all.It took less than an hour to setup, fits solidly in our rack, with a robust feel, excellent array of lights on the front so that you can see what is happening without even logging on.Security options seem to be far beyond what we are likely to need. But comforting to know we should be able to deal with almost any attack.Previously we had trouble with some applications, like Office Online, with hanging applications, Outboxes delayed much longer than acceptable too, but that's all disappeared now. Online Exchange has proved a revelation after utilizing this router.Only thing that puzzles me is that the router appears to have been discontinued by TPLink. I wonder why, it seems such an excellent and economical machine. Perhaps it was a price issue, as I see that online prices have been falling rapidly. We bought this for around £160, but it is the type of device that might have cost a few thousand a year or two ago. Hopefully there are no fundamental hardware weaknesses that caused them to stop production.

Fast but big
By Mr. T. S. Browning
I bought this for it's 8-wired ports and it's ability to provide +50megabits throughput. It does both these things with a great web interface too. My only gripes are; 1)- The Size, it's enormous! and 2)- it came with a european round-2-pin plug. I knew that this was a rack-mountable router when I bought it, my daughter said it looked like something out of the 1980's! But hey, it's doing the job that 'sexier' looking routers were unable to do.
