Great Value
By Big Stew
Had the TV for 2 days now ,it was very easy to set up and tune in. Still waiting for Sky to install a HD box ,but the picture quality is very impressive even without it. The sound is good but not as good as on my old flat screen 36" Panasonic but that could be down to the size of the cabinate. But all in all I would go out and buy this model again now I've seen and watched it.I now have Sky HD and the results with this Sony are simply amazing.

Stunning Quality and Value
By Calum A. Robertson
OK so this telly probably isn't the best on the market and those folks who post on forums and really care about numbers and gadgets will probably look down on it because it doesn't have this feature or that feature...Big Deal! This is a fantastic set, particularly for anyone making the first move to HD. It does everything you really need and more without asking you to pay for technology that isn't even available (and probably wont be available for a good 5 or so years).Easy to set up out of the box, nice and light and the remote and interface are as user friendly as you would expect (its a Sony after all). The Freeview is a little clunky when switching channels but the tv guide feature more than makes up for this and the picture quality is superb. My 360 looks Lovely through it and as soon as funds allow I'll have it wired up for Blue Ray also (via a PS3 of course). My only regret is that I didnt have it before the F1 Season ended - roll on next season!!!

Hooray - it's NOT piano black!
By Michael Doyle
Perhaps I'm alone, but I really dislike a glossy black (aka "piano black") frame on a TV - I find it distracts from the image to see reflections in the frame. The KDL-40L4000 is the only TV I've found of this size to have a MATT frame. So, regardless of all the techie stuff, that's why I chose this TV above all the others. Why have so many manufacturers gone to such lengths to produce non-reflective screens, only to surround them with a distracting reflective frame?BTW - even ignoring the frame, this is a great TV.
