Great light.The bar mount is of good quality and allows about 20 degrees of permanent lateral adjustment as well as the usual available tilt (Use washing up liquid to ease the supplied rubber inserts into the mount). Helmet mount is basic but secure. Allen key required to switch mounts. When removing light from bike, mount comes as well so repositioning is required for next use.Light feels solid and well made. Though battery holder is a generic Far-Eastern part, it does the trick and allows you buy another one from Maplin to keep loaded with spares. Light has no low battery warning and cuts out with no loss of output prior to shutdown- carry spare light or power. Will switch back on after power loss for five mins or so in flash mode. Buy 2700mAh rechargeables- takes four AA cells.Burn times (in hours) for reachargeable 2700mAh cells:LOW 30MED 8.75HIGH 3.75MAX 2.7There's also a flash mode which uses LOW. LOW is about the same brightness as my old Cateye EL510 in high mode, however the 510 has tighter beam, meaning the Hope has higher output overall. Beam is a well-chosen angle for road riding. Wide enough to see, yet tight enough to stay bright and to avoid dazzling oncoming traffic. Flash mode gives you ample visibility to others even when dipped- if they don't see you with this it's not for want of extra visibility. MED is significantly brighter than LOW, and gives you enough light to see the road easily. HIGH and MAX modes are super bright for a self contained unit, though MAX mode is only marginally brighter than HIGH.I bought this after my local council decided to grow some extra potholes and turn off half of all residential street lighting. I wanted the brightest self contained unit (without separate power pack) available, and this is probably it. Does the trick nicely- recommended.

Truly awesome light incredibly bright and well engineered robust construction. Highly recommended. My friend told me how he had been mistaken for a motorcycle by an oncoming car driver who gave way. You can see and be seen with this torch. Recommend re-chargeable 2850ma batteries AA for best results
