5underfloor heating
By Matotsi
All seems very simple, uncoiling the pipe needs 2 people and you need to have planned the route before you start, twisting in the clips hurt your hands after a while and I used all 300 so wearing a pair of gloves helps. Coonecting up the pump has been easy all push fit, you do have to use a bit of pressure to get the pipes to go home and must use the inserts. Pressure tested for 24 hours at 6 bar and left under pressure when the floor was screeded, it did drop a bit but probably due to temperature change, no leaks and still a good 5 bar next morning so release prressure, disconnect and send the pump back to the hire company. Not able to use it for 3 weeks until the screed has fully cured but can't see there being any problems, just need to remember that the thermostat needs a 3 core cable

5This is worth every single penny!
By Mellow Yellow
I can honestly say that this is the best item I have EVER purchased to use in the kitchen.I have used cheaper brands and models but they splash everywhere, they are noisy and use alot of electricity compared with the Bamix. This little machine fits into the palm of your hand perfectly and the buttons are very easy to use. I also like the way that each attachment fits onto the bottom, the booklet also tell you how to tighten these if they become loose after a time.My Bamix has been used to make soup, mayonaise, milkshakes etc. This can also turn skimmed milk into a cream texture which is totally amazing, the colder the milk the better so I just put it into the freezer for 20 to 30 minutes prior to whipping it up. I also add fruit or coffee into the skimmed milk which makes a lovely dessert. This also comes with a grinding mill which turns sugar into icing sugar, it really is that good! The only downside is the limited recipe book, but if you hunt on the internet you will find a Bamix cookbook which contains over 150 recipes. I am afraid that Amazon do not sell this book at present but if you search the internet auction sites then you should find it.

5Out with the old...
By A. M. Walmsley
I have had a Bamix for the last 25 years and when it finally gave up the ghost and stopped working, found that I could not manage my kitchen without it. During those years, I have tried other hand held blender/mixers but they fade into uselessness by comparison with the Bamix. Speedy delivery from Amazon meant that I was not Bamixless for more than a week and my kitchen is running smoothly again. The fact the I have replaced Bamix with Bamix speaks for itself!

5Bamix blender
By Jo
I have had my bemix for 2 years now and after recommending it to my sister I thought I would have a look at other opinions. Most people , like me, love it. I returned two previous branded blenders because they ran hot and smelled as if the motor was overheating. When I bought a third I realised it must be the norm, and the motor never did burn out. But when I bought the bamix, it was never a problem. It copes with anything and never gets warm. The best kitchen buy I have ever made. Still working like new and gets used every day, always have to start with a cappuccino and it whips the milk perfectly, and then I microwave it. Don't need a special machine for that any more

3Earrings and pendant
By Sue
Whilst the earrings and pendant are nice and just like the picture, the chain that the pendant is on is totally useless and couldn't be used as it's so thin it just knots as soon as you take it out of the box. It is literally like a gold coloured thread. I certainly wouldn't want to risk wearing the pendant out with that chain as it would probably break within the first 5 minutes. I would have preferred to pay a little extra and got a proper chain to go with the set.

5Churchill Buffet Tear Dish. Great additon to our dinner service.
By J. Fradgley
Already bought the dinner plates in the Churchill Ambience and wanted a really stylish serving dish to go with them. This is a good size dish, quite deep too and in a modern design that really compliments the plates. They also look great stood on the larger dinner platesfor those more exotic recipes or simply with curries or pasta dishes etc so you can team them up with naan breads etc. So not just a serving dish and very versatile.Really pleased with this and will definitely collect more pieces to complete our dinner service. Thanks for an excellent product and service to match.

4Use and Abuse!
By C. Miller
Since getting this lens about 6 months ago I have used little else on my DSLR and have taken a number of images that I'm very pleased with. The lens can be tricky to use, it is entirely manual and takes a bit of getting used to, but I have found it a real liberation/revelation as I have never been interested in taking images that are perfectly in focus or exposed. In that sense the lens has helped further develop my approach to photography, an approach which rather baffles some people, but I don't care, I'm doing this for myself. I have not given the Lens five stars though because the universal ball joint has a tendency to stick quite badly if the camera is not used for a while. But a bit of shoving and pushing seems to do the trick. If readers want to see some examples of what the Lensbaby can do, you'r welcome to visit my Flickr site, http://www.flickr.com/photos/colin_miller/ the most recent pictures are mostly taken using the Lensbaby and my Canon G11

5Brilliant
By A. Hof
These shoes are brilliant. I love Panama Jacks. I used to have a pair years ago that I wore until the shoes fell apart. I was really pleased to find these on Amazon. They are quite unusual: sandals rather than boots, but they are much sturdier than most sandals. They can also be adjusted in a variety of ways, enabling you to get a really good fit. They provide great support. I'm really pleased with them.

5A rare movie-like quality for still pictures.
By Martin Turner
The original Lensbaby and Lensbaby 2 were designed to restore a sense of random spontaneity to photography. Holga-esque elements and 'squeeze to focus' meant that every picture you took was in a certain sense a guess, even on a single lens reflex. You can still get something like the original Lensbaby in the form of the Lensbaby Muse, but if you want to retain the extreme blurring and distortion of the original while having a degree of control and repeatability, the Lensbaby Composer is probably what you are looking for.If you've never used a Lensbaby, it is a relatively low quality compound lens with the front and the back connected not by a rigid tube, but by a flexible collar. With this, you can push and pull the front lens to focus, but also move it off axis, giving you the effects of a Tilt/Shift lens. However, unlike a studio tilt/shift which is designed to give you the maximum in terms of absolute quality, at a significant cost in spontaneity, the Lensbaby throws optical quality to the winds, and gives you something you just move and shoot. This is all fully manual, of course -- even to the extent that changing the aperture requires you to physically swap out aperture rings. Most modern cameras should be able to do something in the way of auto-exposure, by varying the shutter speed or the ISO, but you may well find that the results are unpredictable -- as is almost everything about a Lensbaby. If this sounds like a recipe for disaster, think again. By removing any pretence at pixel-level sharpness or absence of distortion, the Lensbaby sets you free to just take pictures, in exactly the way that Holga cameras freed up a new generation of art photographers to experiment with the weird and wonderful. Unlike a Holga, you get all the benefits of digital, plus whatever further refinements your camera of choice has.As mentioned, the original Lensbaby has you physically pushing, pulling and twisting the lens. The Composer is a much more refined machine, allowing you to turn a dial to focus, and also to lock the position of the front optic relative to the back so that, having established the optical properties, you can then work on the composition, or, perhaps, just go off and have a cup of tea before taking the all important shot.* * *Photographically, what does this all mean? You may have seen the kind of blurry/sharp photos of bright flowers which were used to market the early Lensbabies. This kind of thing doesn't really do it for me, because you can just as easily put vaseline on a plain filter to get that effect. What I do find, though, is that the Lensbaby gives an extraordinary 'motion' type blur to part of the shot, as well as an extreme of differential focus. The result -- about 1/8 of the time -- is something which conjures up all the feel of a motion picture, but in a still. I treasure the Lensbaby for this otherwise unobtainable movie quality, which simply can't be reproduced in Photoshop. The other 7/8 shots with a Lensbaby? Fortunately they fit cameras these days with a delete button. Even using the Composer, a Lensbaby is still a semi-random photographic tool.

4Back to basics
By M. CADWELL
I looked at this lens long and hard before I bought. But, I'm so glad I did!I'll be honest though, I'd recommend buying the other optics too. For a further £70 - £90 you can convert the composer into a wide angle, telephoto and macro, covering the range of 20 - 80mm.That then becomes a very versatile lens, combine that with the creative aperture kit and there are countless combinations and effects to achieve, all with the added tilt shift capability. The manual apertures really get you thinking about the basics of photography. Beware though, no TTL metering on most SLR's, personally it has made me think more about how the camera works and what you can acheive.Brilliant product, one that will appear in a lot more camera bags in the future.

5extremely simple and makes you think in photography again
By A.F.B.
It takes a little time to get used to the "old fashion" way of taking pictures, but definitely worth it.The lens is fully manual, it has good construction and design, not as "nikon quality full metal high end lens feeling", but like a kit lens. Aluminium body, feels right in the hand, focus is relatively precise in the zone that you select to be in focus. Only gripe I have with it is that changing the aperture is a fully manual (with magnets) activity and takes a lot of time - this lens is to take pictures to things that you can control or are static...I'm using it on a D300 and I'm getting good results - you learn to look to photography as the old times - manual. The previous versions of the lensbaby didn't appealed to me because being too sensible to how you hold them. This one stays where you want, which is why I got it.Quite happy with the purchase. I haven't tried the other accessories yet, there is a lot to explore on this one.

    By H. Laird
The Razer Megalodon is the best headset that I've ever owned. I regularly do long gaming sessions of 8 hrs or longer and this headset stays comfortable throughout. The mic is excellent and even though you don't think that it will reach your mouth, this doesn't stop it picking up your voice perfectly. Sound quality is also very good, with great bass.Pros:Very very comfortableGreat build qualityGreat sound qualityComes with hard travel case (best feature in my opinion)Amazing presentation, box etc..Cons:Price (but you definitely get what you pay for)7.1 virtualisation will only work with at least a 5.1 input signal (e.g. when watching a DVD, or a dolby game like Crysis), if you run the 7.1 off a stereo input it makes voices sound like they're underwater!! (although normal sounds are ok, as all it does is copy the front stereo channels to the rear channels)

5Cracking headset! Designed with gamers firmly in mind...
    By Uncle Jezza
This headset is just plain fantastic. The deep booming bass, the crisp clear trebles... The 7.1 virtualisation is so convincing that it gave me a fright at first!I'm heavily into my gaming (first person shooters mainly) and this set has honestly increased my frag count - you can really feel where you are being attacked from with the 7.1 enabled! The intuiative control box sits happily in its place just below my screen. The rubber feet mean it doesnt slip all over the place. The braided material cabling is a revelation! It NEVER knots, tangles or pulls! It doesnt get caught on anything! And you can coil it up easily when not in use.The set is EXTREMELY comfortable. I dont think anyone will argue with that. The mic is crystal clear. What else can I say? Expensive? Absolutely... but, worth every penny... after one game of COD 4 you will know where that extra money went and you wont regret a single penny.... After all 'Quality remains long after price is forgotten...'Another classic addition to the already esteemed Razer line of products.Well done fellas!

    5Ideal Headset
    By Maeag
I have had this headset for a week now and I am greatly pleased with my purchase. The fears I had from reading some reviews regarding windows 7 64bit compatability and the headset turning off never arised, as suggested by Razer these being faults with windows seems to be accurate and would make sense that these no longer occur with the windows updates. The headset came in beautiful casing including a hardy travel case which will be perfect for LANing, it worked immediately upon plugging it in. The separate volume control is brilliantly convenient, the ability to with the press of just a single button change from 7.1 to 2.0 (useful for when the music/ videos you are watching do not support 5.1/ 7.1) is also nice.I have done 2 5-7 hour gaming sessions and a few short sessions, through each of these the headset remained very comfortable and sat gently and easily on my head. I also noticed that the material on the top band of the headset is different to that surrounding the ears, it is easier to clean and seems very resistant to grease so over long term use should not have the problems I had with my Siberia headset over time. The surround sound is very accurate and requires no fiddling around. The mic is of high sound quality and again easy to adjust the volume of due to the controls being on the separate control/ volume/ sound card box. Althogh the price tag is relatively high, the quality you receive for the price isn't. From when you first open the packaging to when you wear it a week down the line you can feel the quality. I have yet to find a feature that I felt was lacking for what I needed it for or not deserving of the price tag 5/5, 10/10. I am one very happy customer.

5Great for getting back to the basics
By Gc Wilson
The box is quite small compared to some of the other lenses I have bought recently. Once you empty the box you have the lens (with the optic in place), a holder/tool for the aperture rings, a soft pouch for the lens and an instruction booklet. The aperture ring holder/tool (see pic below) has a magnetic end that is used for removing the aperture ring from the lens and also an area for storing the rings that has a plastic cover that snaps into place. The plastic cover reminds me of the cover from a 35mm film canister (I will need to find one to see if they are the same size). The lens itself has a metal mount for (Pentax/Samsung in my case) the camera and then a metal ring followed by a ribbed plastic ring that is used to tighten the ball joint of the optic mount. The optic mount has another ribbed plastic ring that is used to focus the lens. No optic removal tool is included in with the basic lens. Minimum focusing distance for the glass optic is about 18 inches or 460mm.As I said there is no optic removal tool included but when you get an additional optic a removal tool is included. The tool is actually the lid of the case in which the new optic is packaged/stored. Quite a good idea as it means it would be very difficult to lose it. To swap an optic you just need to twist the focus ring until the optic is as near to the front of the lens and then use the tool to release the lens. Pop in the new optic and tighten up. Really quite a simple process.Once on the camera there are a few things that are different from a "normal" lens. Aperture is changed by replacing a magnetic disk in front of the glass of the optic. The disk is dropped in to the front of the lens and it is held in place by three small magnets. To remove the disk, the removal tool with it's magnetic tip is used to grab the disk. The disks provided are in the range of f2.8 to f22 with the basic lens having an aperture of f2.The other obvious difference is that the optic can be moved away from the straight ahead orientation in any direction. This has the effect of moving the "sweet spot" towards the edge of the image.Using the lensIf you have always used a kit lens or modern lens the chances are that you will have always had access to autofocus, auto exposure, etc. If you have used older lenses with your DSLR then you may have had to use it manual focus and you may also have had to set the aperture using the ring. If you are the former then using the Composer will be really different, if you are the latter then you shouldn't be too surprised at what you need to do!With my Pentax and Samsung DSLR bodies, once switched on you have to set the focal length of the lens if you are using an older lens or the Composer. This setting is only used by the camera for the shake reduction function and I have been setting this to 60mm for the composer. The lens instructions say to have the optic straight on, focus the lens as required, then move the optic to get the effect you are after and then refocus the lens and take the picture. I tried this a few times but found that the focus point once the lens was moved was so different from the straight on that I couldn't see the point of focussing and moving. I have found that it is quicker to move the lens to where you want it and then compose the image and focus.I have not had the lens long enough to be fluent with its use and the weather has been less than helpful when trying outdoor photography. When using the lens with a small aperture ring in place, say f16, the image in the view finder is very dark as it is the equivalent of using the aperture preview switch to check depth of field. The dark view makes it (for me) very hard to focus the lens accurately. I am confident that with a decent amount of light it will be easier to use because things are a lot better when using a flash (see the keyboard pictures below).Once you get use to the effects you get from moving the lens around it does become easier to predict the type of image you will get and that does remove the need to compose with the optic straight before moving it.The camera does indicate when the lens is focused but this does contradict what the eye can see. Most of the time the whole image would be blurred even though it was suggesting it should be in focus. With my camera bodies, whilst aperture priority mode did work I felt that it wasn't the best option and have been using them in manual on most occasions. Obviously the aperture was fixed which meant that the exposure required either a shutter speed change or the ISO to be altered. The in-camera light meter appears to work OK with the lens. Adjust the shutter speed until the camera said the exposure was OK and hit the shutter button. To repeat myself again, I have not had that much practice using the lens, but I think using this lens requires extra thought and time. If you take this lens out with you I would probably plan on going alone or if you do go with someone you are likely to be alone when you get back! The reason for that is that it isn't a lens to just point and shoot. You need to think more about the composition especially if you are going to use it to create effects. Even just changing the aperture will take more time than usual.Start taking any of the alternate optics and you will certainly find your time being eaten away as you see what effect each has on your chosen subject. I think this lens provides a strong argument for having a second body (or a third if you already have one for the wide-angle zoom lens and another for the telephoto zoom lens). The lens would be great for a person new to photography or someone moving up from a point and shoot. My first camera was completely manual except for an in-camera light meter. Being only manual does provide a good basis for knowing what is happening when you do move to something more automated. I had a good understanding of what changing the aperture did in terms of depth of field and being able to gauge what will be in focus at a particular aperture. Manually setting the shutter speed also illustrated the effect it had by either freezing any motion or by creating blur, panning is a good example.Having to use the Composer in manual mode and physically changing the aperture gives you much more of a feeling of having created the image. Thinking about each of the settings before pressing the shutter button puts you fully in charge of the camera and not just it's operator.

4Lensbaby Composer
By Lars Maelstrom
This is a beautifully made and packaged item with very impressive build quality. It is easy to use and enables you to shoot dreamy photos whose the out of focus areas exhibit a charming old fashioned character, this due to the simple design of the lens's optics. However, this is not a criticism, because this the whole point of this special effects lens.To change the aperture you have swap over the small aperture rings inside the front on the lens barrel, which is easy to do using the magnetic tool provided. This lens is completely manual, so leave the cameras in aperture priority and focus by hand. Look at the manufacturer's web site for example photos.I would not use this every day, but it is great fun to use for funky fun photography now and then. The only downside is that the case is not included, which is a bit rotten given that this is not a cheap lens to buy in the first place.

5Something a little different
By MyHonestOpinion
I love my Lensbaby composer. I really enjoy photography, and have used the Lensbaby for around a year on my Canon 40D, and more recently on a Canon 5D MK II.The lens comes in a very nice little colourful box, and is well packed. Once open, you get the lens, a little pouch to keep it in, and a little magnetic tool to change the aperture rings. The tool also doubles up as a holder for the rings, which is a nice touch. The lens itself is good quality, and well made. There is a manual focus ring, and a also a plastic wheel which adjusts how stiff the tilt action is (quite lose, to locked in place).Using the lens is good fun. It's fixed at 50mm, which is a great focal length on a full frame camera, but I find it's a little long for indoor use on my 1.6x crop 40D. If you haven't used a fixed lens, try a zoom at 50mm to see the effect.I would recommend that you're familiar with the fundamentals of using your camera before getting to grips with the Lensbaby. As others have mentioned, it is a manual focus lens, and you also have to manually change the aperture rings. I find that I usually leave the camera in Av (aperture priority) mode, and let the camera's meter sort out the exposure (I usually dial in a little -EV though).Using the lens is simple, just tilt the front element to move the focus point, and turn the focus ring. The results are great, a nice sharp point of focus with the frame becoming increasingly defocused as you move outwards. The effect is even more pronounced on a full frame camera as you get the full coverage of the lens. On a crop sensor you still get a great effect, although not as pronounced.Optically I have found that the lens is a little soft wide open (f2 with no rings installed), but that's not really an issue as it's the Lensbaby effect you're after. With manual focus and a very shallow depth of field at f2, it could be my technique to blame. Regardless, if you stop down a little it's really rather sharp at the focus point. It's not a lens I find I use very often, but it's a fun to keep in your bag and will certainly get you thinking creatively. Great fun at parties with a little flash, it really brings images to life. I would recommend the creative aperture discs (Lensbaby Creative Aperture Kit), as they only cost a few pounds, and give you some lovely effects - especially at Christmas time with fairy lights. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase!

5Strongly recommended step up from old models
By Diggy Dow
Having just bought the 405CX I found the lack of user reviews deeply frustrating. Having had the watch for 2 weeks I thought I would share my experience.I formerly owned a 305 and my big concern with the 405 was the reported difficulties in picking up satellites (as a result of the smaller design). Well the 405CX has certainly resolved these issues. I'm guessing the kit remembers where you tend to be because it catches a satellite even in areas that would have been a total no go with the 305 (like in the shadow of tall buildings). This morning's run got a satellite connection in 5 seconds (really!) Combine this high sensitivity with an ability to save locations and the GPS functions are better than ever. Other reported issues were the wet sensitivity of the bezel. Well it certainly works when wet hands touch it - although I've yet to go out in a downpour this bodes well for me. I tend to leave it on a single screen so changing the reading isn't likely to be that important.Having been an enormous fan of the old model I bought this (more expensive) upgrade only when my old one was stolen. However having made the purchase I would recommend others to do the same - it really is a delight. The battery meter tells you specifically how much energy you have left so you're unlikely to be caught short - and the battery is certainly no weaker than the old model. At least now you can assess whether it needs 10 minutes charge before you go out - rather than the guessing game of the past.Runners - you'll love it. The old model was the best bit of kit I'd ever bought - the 405CX is considerably better. A strong recommendation.

5Quality sports watch with excellent features.
By Dazzla
As of Oct 2012 - I fear this watch has finally run its last run. It no longer charges consistently and often the screen goes blank with no warning. Maybe time to upgrade?!As of Feb 2010 - continuing to use this at least 2-3 times a week and still rate it 5 stars! Tracking my stats online and keeping a record of routes, comparing heart rates and monitoring different sessions is a real motivator to me.Original review - I write this having owned both Sunnto and Polar sports watches in the past. I've owned the Garmin 405CX for a month and used it both for running, circuits (outdoors) and in the gym. Overall I would highly recommend this piece of kit, it has exceptional features, excellent data capture and a great on-line (or PC based) inter-face to which you can download your data, analyse and share it. The bezel takes a little getting used to but no more so than an iPOD. The positives and negatives are as follows:+VEs:- Excellent in-built GPS that has no trouble locating satellites in urban and non-urban areas. It even has a track back function should you get lost! Doh!- Good heart rate monitor (standard chest strap).- Multiple data pages that you can customise to show multiple permutations of HR, pace/speed, distance, averages.- Virtual training partner - a nice feature to help you train or run.- It comes with both standard and velcro watch straps. I prefer the velcro.- Garmin provide really good user videos on their website that talk you through the multiple features; a real benefit as I get bored reading manuals!-VEs:- I'm still getting used to having to charge the watch every few days but its no more inconvenient than charging my iPOD.- I'm dubious about its water resistant qualities. A perfect watch would offer decent water resistance (up to 10M) but I'm just not sure how far to test this!- A little more choice in colour would be nice. All in all I would highly recommend this, if your into fitness training and you enjoy analysing data ( and sharing it) then this is the watch for you.

5From a beginner
By Alison
Excellent product. I have just taken up jogging and it really is useful to motivate and guide. You don't have to be a super fit athlete to get maximum benefit out of it. It also has a bike mode. The heart rate monitor is non-intrusive. It fits comfortably on a lady's wrist and I like the look of it. The watch automatically downloads into my PC. The calorie counts are fun too!

If you haven't any patience then the Lensbaby Muse may not be for you !! This baby is a difficult little blighter to control. However, when house trained with a tripod, live-view & a remote shutter release you can get it to behave !! Getting to know this baby is fun but can be frustrating at times, don't expect too many keepers to begin with. This is back to basics manual photography technology , most of which has been neglected since the digital revolution.
