JBL Rocks
By Dominic
Small but perfectly formed ipod touch 2G sound.I listened to all the systems in the apple shopand this one stood out bang for falling GB pound. Only bose stood out as better for much moremoney. Portable and loud enough for the average room. Convenient, you can also plug any laptop, audio device into its minijack socket. Amazingly good bass for such a small unit, and amazonhas the best price as usual! You'd think the similar system with a radio option would sound as good.It didn't! Just get it!

Good build and sound quality
By Darren Welsman
Having read reviews for the majority of ipod speaker docs, chose this for my home office, mainly due to the lack of negative reviews and size, the general consensus of reviewers is that the system sounds good out of the box. I am always a little nervous of buying audio equipment without audition, however the JBL On Stage 200iD has not disappointed. While not a replacement for my main hi-fi (a very unfair comparison) a more than adequate system for on a desk. Good clear vocals, bass is present but not substantial (albeit impressive for something so small). Most impressively the sound is well balanced. In fact in a bedroom/office (12'x10') this speaker doc is a pleasure to listen to even from 12' away. Sound could be more spacious and the stereo sound stage could be greater. However even if this doesn't improve as the drivers break in, I anticipate a great deal of enjoyable listening. I grabbed one while priced at £99.99 and consider it very good value. The unit is nicely finished and easy to use...plug, play and enjoy. NB remote lag, commented upon by many reviewers, is noticeable but not in my opinion intrusive; ability to operate all menus and select albums remotely (within viewing distance) is preferable to pressing buttons on docked ipod. No USB pass through. Charged iPod Video (5th gen) without trouble, with unit switched on or off as long as connected to mains.

Love JBL but this one disappoints
By Logan
Let me start by saying I have been a big fan of JBL over the last Ten years and have bought many a products by them. I have always loved the crisp sounds, quality of bass and style of their products. All for a reasonable cost. I bought a JBL Radial Docking Station about two years ago and loved the sound quality of it, I cant fault it at all. So when I decided to buy another docking station this time for the bedroom/bathroom I knew JBL would have a good range. It came down to two, this one and the Radial Micro. Both were the same price so I let the missus decided. She prefered the style of this one so after reading the reviews of it on here I ordered one.I really wanted to like this item but the first thing I was disappointed with was the bass! Many reviews on here said it was superb and very good for the size of the item, I disagree!! When playing a track with a decent bass you cant turn it up anywhere near the loudest setting or you just get a distorted horrible noise coming back at you. The treble isnt great either. So I guess its down to what your going to use the item for, i'd imagine this is ideal for a little background music during a meal or whilst your relaxing in the bath but its not for playing loud whilst your getting ready to go out, dancing around your bedroom like a mad man! Nor will it be good enough to use at a BBQ, it just doesnt cut it.The above I decided I could live with because of what I wanted to use it for but the MOST ANNOYING thing by far was trying to connect my iphone to the docking station!!! ARGH Not once have I connected my iphone 3G to this item and its worked perfectly straight away. I have to wiggle it until it recognises the device, then play with the menu until the sound comes out of the docking station and not the phone. Very Very Annoying! Just tonight I gave it another go, managed to get it connect then put my iphone on shuffle and got into the bath to relax . . . Well after listening to the same track SEVEN times it was safe to say the shuffle function didnt work through the phone either!I have also used my ipod and this works perfectly so maybe its just my phone.I so wish I had gone for the Radial Micro knowing how good its big brother is.
