Although this clock is plastic, it is built to a very good specification and looks good. I was expecting a straight forward cuckoo, but when the clock cuckoos on the hour it sounds as if it is in a forest. You can hear a waterfall in the background and there is an echo of the cuckoo. It sounds very good and quite soothing. Glad I bought it.

I bought this cuckoo clock as I thought it would be fun for the children and I wasn't disappointed, they love it!The clock is very well built and the cuckoo sound is very impressive with an echo and a waterfall/forest sound in the background. The intricate detail of the house, clock and animals really is as good as it looks in the picture and even has the odd stone on the roof which gives it more of an authentic touch.A previous reviewer has stated the clock is plastic but I'm sure it's all wood and the whole thing is very well made.The size is as I expected for a cuckoo clock although it's lighter than I thought, but that doesn't detract from the overall delight I felt on first seeing it. It has a Christmas feel to it too so I've brought it at the right time. It's my best buy from Amazon this year and the kids think so too.
