First of all, lets get things straight. This is THE best laptop on the market for this price. It has the best specifications by far, much better than similar priced sonys,samsungs..etc. and also features a killer Blu-ray drive!! What a bonus.So if you're wondering whether to buy this prodcut i would especially recommend it. Even though it says it is heavy, it is portable, and the battery life can be up to 3 hours (at a push, with power saver mode on [affects performance]). It is easily a great desktop replacement, with 3GB RAM and a hefty 250GB hard drive.Its a great entertainment laptop, with quick touch sensitive keys illuminated just above the keyboard, very handy not to switch between programs.Stunningly sharp display, which is expected, as it plays Blu ray dvds...about this though. I had intended to use the laptop as a makeshift Blu-ray player on my 42" HD tv, howver when i connected it up to play a DVD, it said the graphics card did not support!! i will investigate and play around further though.By the way, the fingerprint reader is great, likewise all of the free extras added on by acer. However you may want to buy a mouse, and i reccomend the Logitech VX nano, a great precise, sleek mouse.

This is my first foray into laptop territory and I don't think I could have made a better choice.Everything from it's design, to it's capabilities, just smacks of class. The price as well is an absolute bargain.This baby has it all!I was looking for a laptop and not a desktop because space is at a premium at mi casa but also one that would stand up against many desktops, and with the ACER 6930G you get that.It has buckets of memory, a top processor, a Blu-Ray AND normal DVD drive in one, great sound,a very nifty built-in camera and a very decent graphics card to name just a few of it's pros.It's probably a bit bigger & heavier to other laptops due to the lovely 16" screen but not by much I wouldn't think, and with everything else you're getting with it, this becomes a moot point.All-in-all, well chuffed with it, and would soundly recommend!

The product itself is top marks, the 1080p capabilities bundled with blu-ray really works which is staggering considering only 8 years ago a PC probably 6times larger made a faff of playing a cd... that aside this is a top piece of technology with all it's glittering and dancing functions.However Bill Gates must have lost his way when he allowed vista, the laptop works perfectly, but the moment its unplugged from the mains its annoying, as it's wireless keeps turning off. After many a day searching the menus i found out how to stop this (but then again i've never used vista before), however the way of sorting it requires a daring "i'll just click it and wing it" attitude; which seems to work on vista... strange folk behind this brain child. Lets hope microsoft 7 isn't this awful for ruining almost perfect computers.The product which i'm meant to review i have no problems with it was advised by a pc guru for being powerful, cheaper than most in it's range piece of kit.
