The upper is made from full grain leather, and there is articulated, rustproof brass hardware.Ion-Mask Hydrophobic technology, or HPi, is more that just a waterproof treatment. This is part of engineering, with open mesh materials, that works brilliant in wet conditions. HPi shoes dry quickly because they absorb far less water than regular shoes. As a result of this, the shoes also stay clean longer and lighter.Event waterproof technology supplies a high level of comfort in shoes that are designed for extremely rugged environments. They also allow perspiration through the shoe's membrane through microscopic pores. Due to this reduction of moisture retention, keeping the foot far more comfortable.Comfort-Tec sockliner wicks moisture away from the foot as well as providing excellent, additional cushioning.The 4:SYS midsole provides cushioning and support to various parts of the foot. I bought these boots for when the winter finally takes hold and my old boots finally give in. So far I've only worn them once on a mountain trail in North Wales. It was wet and slippy in places but not horrendous. The boots were comfortable right from the off and needed no breaking in. They were warm and kept my feet dry but I must admit they were not tested to extremes. The Vibram soles are sturdy and feel well made. Only one thing I noticed was that for the first part of the walk the soles felt a bit greasy on wet rocks - as if there was a sheen on the soles with them being brand new. As this seemed to wear off they felt more grippy. As I say not yet tested to extremes but I believe they are more than capable of handling everything I throw at them. Very happy with this boot.

Very quick, free delivery by Supersaver to the south of Ireland by Amazon. Great quality. Full grain leather, sewn in leather tongue. Vibram sole. A bit of breaking in which I like. A bit of weight in them which I like also. Very good ankle support, great water resistance. Look great! Maybe a bit warm in summer day hiking. Have them nearly four months.Very comfortable, wider fit than apparent. Used in all conditions with no complaints.Why are they made in China though? Surely someone in our part of the globe could make them competitively or is the profit never good enough?

After a long search trying to find some decent waterproof and comfortable boots I came across these. At £[] I thought they would walk on water too but, I was lucky enough to check my size out and found the boots at £[].I needed a pair that would last for years and not fall apart after wearing them a few months (as some others I've seen). Well, I took the chance and bought a pair. On receiving them, I noticed the quality and knew they would be a good buy.I walked around the front room and they felt great for new boots, fitted very well with no rubbing areas which would cause blisters.I've now worn them in the wet and across some marshy fields with no wet feet and they have perfect grip in muddy conditions.It feels like I've been wearing them for years because they're so comfortable and will certainly look forward to many walks in the future.I would recommend these boots to anyone who will walk in 4 seasons or less. Well done Hi-Tec. :)
