Without a sub woofer these speakers do sound a little lacking, not so much due to bass quantity but in terms of the fullness and width of the sound - as the bass within the speakers produce a reasonable amount of sound the secondary sub does not have to do much to fill the gap within the frequency spectrum.I was a little skeptical at first to how a rectangular tweeter would effect the sound-stage, you can hear the case design in the higher frequencies, it is justified though as the higher frequencies are flat and clean.
