Quick, easy, high-quality espresso
By edoze
This is my first Nespresso machine, after being a Gaggia user for several years. It blows my previous machine away in terms of size (very neat footprint), convenience (the main reason for me changing), and most importantly, quality of coffee. From a convenience point of view, it's a quick to make coffee as instant and there's virtually no maintenance apart from flushing once with water (i.e. you press a button) when you're done. The speed of the whole process, together with no need for washing up makes it possible for me to actually have a coffee made and drunk in the morning while feeding a 1 year old.The quality of the coffee has surpassed my expectations, and I'm pretty picky. The variety of coffees available from Nespresso means you can find several you like (my wife and I each have our favourites, and can have our own choice every time) to match your mood.It looks great too.I didn't bother with the version with the milk frother, as I've found a manual Bodum frother works better, costs less than a tenner, and takes less space in the kitchen too.The only drawback is the need to buy relatively expensive capsules from Nespresso (a touch over 30p a pop after postage), and wait for them to be delivered. Also, if you like a latte, you might need two shots in there, as one is a bit puny for me. They are very professional and quick though, and the convenience more than offsets the price for me.All in all, I'm so delighted with this machine I've just ordered a second Nespresso machine for work.

Excellent coffee machine!
By Gazmos
I was thinking of upgrading my Gaggia Cubika with another Gaggia Classic and changed my mind to get a Nespresso after I tasted the quality of the coffee. The Nespresso machine has the advantage of:- being small doesn't take up much space in the kitchen- quick to heat up- high quality coffee every time- Nespresso supplies are delivered fast and well packed- anyone can use it and you don't have to be an expert- no messy coffee grounds- quality made, solidThe only things to be aware of are:- you are tied in to the Nespresso capsule system at 28p per cup- you need to plan ahead before you run out of coffee- ummm, that's all I can think ofBuy with confidence if you want great tasting coffee every time at reasonable price.

Wake up and smell the coffee
By Fizzybee
I've thought long and hard about buying one of these machines and almost been put off by the lack of coffee capsule pricing information readily available prior to becoming a Nespresso club member. I decided to take the plunge and am really glad that I did - this particular model was chosen as I like a long coffee and some of the smaller, cheaper Nespresso machines won't accomodate a normal size mug. All I have to do here is flip up the platform and my jumbo mug fits just fine. The variety of coffee blends is pretty good and when you purchase a new machine and register it, you can buy a mixed box (which comes complete with a Discovery Box to store two of each flavour in). The prices from Nespresso direct are reasonable for coffee of this quality, but it's never going to be as cheap as drinking instant coffee. You're looking at about 30p per cup (a little more with p&p added in), but my advice is not to bother to buy capsules off eBay as they are considerably more expensive this way. Just buy direct - the service is excellent and it's cheaper. If you can afford one of these machines, you're probably the kind of person that doesn't baulk at paying £2+ for a coffee in Costa and therefore 30p a cup in the grand scheme of things is very reasonable! The machine itself is quite long and thin, but not overly cumbersome. The water temperature is ready in seconds. I follow their advice and warm the cup by running water through first as I like my coffee steaming hot. Whilst it has automatic dispensing for espresso and larger cups, you can set this to your own levels according to the size of cup you use. I preferred the handle on this to the bar on the Pixie to open/close the capsule chute as the handle feels more solid. With the size of cup I drink, the water reservoir goes down very quickly and at the back of the machine, its not the most accessible, but it is easy to remove once you have access. The smell of the freshly made coffee is almost worth the money in itself!I tried to think if there was anything I would knock a star off for, but really there isn't anything. Well not yet. I'm still in the honeymoon period........
