I bought this device because I looked for a firewire port based on T. I. chipset.I'm a home musician and I had a pcmcia card with a T.I. chipset. It worked well till it's notebook death. Fine results recording by an Edirol FA-66 device.My new notebook hasn't a pcmcia slot, it has an expresscard one. I tried some other brand chipset card but sound was very bad.So that I decided to buy this well reviewed card (even if a bit expensive). It reached the gol.After a short burning in time it reached a better sounding level compared to my previous card. New recordings have more air among high frequencies, voices are clearer and more definite, bass deeper and controlled.I'm glad of this purchase.I met also a honest seller who refunded me for a shipping overcharge, without any request by my side.I apologize for my English but I'm Italian and I only studied it at school about 35 years ago.
