record player

Equipment functions well, particulrly the record ( vinyl ) player and radio. The only fault is that the moulded pins on the lid are slightly too large fot the sockets that they are supposed to fit in,a problem that is easily rectified by using a nail file to take a tiny bit off the lips of the sockets on the body of the player.

Just what I wanted

SMC99R Beechwood colour finish with silver colour front panels - TRANSFER CD & VINYL RECORDS TO USB /MP3, CONVERT 4-IN-1 MUSIC CENTRE LIGHT COLOURI'd been looking for a 3-speed turntable to replace my worn-out 1960s DUAL hifi system and also wanted the option to transfer vynil records to my computer. Most of those I saw were either too expensive or if cheap, too clunky, or else didn't have speakers. I happened upon this model when searching Amazon and it seemed closer to my requirements as well as affordable. It arrived amazingly fast (only 2 days!) and is just what I wanted. The sound from the speakers is not top quality but I didn't expect it at this price. It's perfectly fine for listening to all my old vynils. I didn't really need the built-in CD player and radio since I already have those but it's handy anyway. Haven't yet tried the USB recording facility but it looks quite straightforward. My only slight criticism is the same as the previous reviewer's, about fitting the plastic dust-cover on the turntable. It's very tricky to get it right and there's no mention of it in the instruction booklet. I eventually managed it (and didn't file anything down) but it took time and patience. On the whole, a very good buy.

does what it says on the tin
By M. M. broad
Having just moved house and rescued my old vinyl from the loft i thought it would be nice to play them again but i did not want to get involved in hi-fi seperates.I decided to purchase one of theese players which arrived very quickly and does what it purports to do.No the sound is not hi-fi quality, the build quality not the best but it suits my purpose in playing 50 + year old records and because of that has a certain charm. Will i convert the files to MP3?i doubt it and the CD player and radio are a bonus for me.Just to note my version had detailed instuctions on fitting the dust cover taped to the cover and popped on easily.Would rcommend this as a fun item to ressurect the past but not to the serious buff.
