Bought this item to setup a WiFi network using a 3G mobile internet source. Set up is straightforward once you have all the log in details from your 3G provider. BUT.... the unit repeated drops the 3G connection, despite a good signal. Tried this with a couple of different 3G dongles using different network providers and had the same problem with all of them. Did the usual stuff trying different locations etc. Some times the unit reconnects to 3G automatically after a drop, other times not. Hard power off reset needed every few hours. No help at all from their customer service. Pretty useless overall.

I bought this router 4 years ago to use with my 3G modem. In the meantime, ADSL became available in my area and I just had to plug the line to its embedded modem.The reliability and performance of this box have been consistent, with small bugs here and there, eventually all solved by newer firmwares. Even today, the 7402GXL is still receiving improvements (IPv6 in 2011), where most 'major' brands would stop supporting any model after one 1 year!Another point where Billion stands out is their excellent technical support.The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the user interface: While functional and not overly complicated, it assumes that you're an expert and provides no on-line help whatsoever, and the manual won't teach you much either.

This router is the only one I found on the market at the time that would allow me to "share" my Broadband dongle as I'm still waiting for my ADSL and will switch to that for broadband access when installed and use 3G for failover.However do check the supported 3G dongle's as I found the one I have from Orange in Spain is not supported (Huawei E160e)so beware. Otherwise works fine as a router and easy to set up and good value.
