4Happy with the previous model - expect this is just as good if not better

I have had one of these for a couple of seasons now and I'm very pleased with it. Mine is a previous model, looking slightly different at the powered top - 24L capacity. It isn't a fridge, but does a good job of keeping things cool - apparently about 20 degrees C below ambient temperature. I found the best way to use it was to operate it at home for a day or so before you set off camping, fill it with stuff that is already cold and add a freeze block or two. (The other reviewer's idea of using frozen products is a good one - think I'll try that.) When you get to your campsite, get it plugged in as soon as you can. We found it kept milk OK for two or three days, and that was on the hottest days of 2012 so far. You have to switch it off for an hour every 48 hours - best done when its cooler, eg evening or early morning. There is a slight fan noise but it's not obtrusive. I read a review elsewhere from someone who had one of these and complained that the rubber sealant had perished over winter when he came to use it again. Mine hasn't. Maybe he kept it in the garage or somewhere damp. We keep ours indoors and there is no sign of it perishing.I recommend it, but don't expect it to be like a fridge and have wonderful cooling powers over things that are not already cool.Haven't used it for heating/warming. No arctic holidays planned....
