Brother QL 570 - Label printer - B/W - direct thermal - Roll (6.2 cm) - 300 dpi x 600 dpi - up to 68 labels/min - USBGreat device, easy to set-up and easy to use. The software supplied on CD says there are updates available the first time you run it. The Brother web site asks for your printers serial number before you can download the updates. The printer comes with starter rolls of address labels and 62mm wide continuous tape, both are 4.5 meters long as opposed to the normal rolls which are over 30 meters. So You might need more supplies sooner than you think.The software is easy to use and fun play with. You can actually print vertically across the tape, the narrowest strip you can produce this way is 12.7mm wide. Its almost the same width as the handheld labellers but the backing strip is much easier to peel off than the handheld devices.I've had couple of weeks now and I've been putting labels on everything and I've almost used up the starter roll. I'm not a business user so I cannot comment on its suitability for heavy use. Its probably overkill for what I use it for but at the price it was hard to resist. Its a great little Printer and highly recommended.My only issue is that my printer came with a two pin plug (CEE 7/16 Europlug) and not a standard 3 pin UK plug. Plugging it into a shaver socket was not an option so I cut off the plug and replaced it with a standard UK 3 pin plug with the smallest fuse I could find. I ordered my label printer from Avides, who shipped it from Germany, so maybe that is why it came with the wrong plug. Its something to bear in mind if you order from them.If you do cut off the plug Avides say"thank you for your mail. Normally you should have received an adapter with the parcel. We could have sent it, but I think that's too late now. Unfortunately you don't have a warranty with us anymore, when you cut off the plug.."You have been warned......perhaps the cheapest price isn't always the best deal
