After umteen years with my trusty NEC 17" it was time for something bigger.Having tried many widescreen monitors without finding anything acceptable (note must be made of the Dell monitors I tested - it made everything I viewed look like it was from a film noir movie) since it seems widescreen manufacturers seem keen to slop anti glare matte onto everything it was onto the squares. This boiled down to two - NEC and Ilyama and went for the latter.The picture is bright, clear and sharp. Text is even clearer than before and the colours are bright and vibrant. There's no problem with motion blur and my games look even better than they did before (I play on mainly emulators so all this widescreen talk doesn't interest me in the slightest). Internet browsing, watching videos, word processing are great which let's face it are the three biggest uses of a PC and this monitor passes these tests with flying colours.Note must be made of the price which is an absolute bargain. Series gamers will be sniffy about these type of displays but I say be off with you! We've got this lovely monitor and are in no need of your flimflam!

Excellent for vision and sound. Replaces a cumbersome old monitor. Delighted to find a slim model with this aspect (don't use PC for video watching!) Setting up was very simple - clear instructions that even I could follow.

I prefer a 4:3 as one does not have to scroll so often/much. What I like is that the screen 'sleeps' if there is no signal, such as if one puts the PC in to a low-power state. The response is quick too, to such events.
