I started using a 3M Ergonomic mouse (wired version) about a year ago when I started to suffer from RSI/carpal tunnel syndrome. My whole arm was going dead after working at the PC.The wired version took some getting used to but has helped immensely. I suffer much less numbness and pain in my arm and would recommend the 3M Ergonomic Mouse.Recently I bought the wireless version for what is a large sum of money. I expected it to perform the same as the wired one, but it is severely lacking in perhaps the most important respect. The resolution is much lower. 2 or three times lower. This means with default mouse speed settings, the cursor shoots across the screen at high speed. Of course, I have lowered the mouse speed in my window manager so it is more controllable, but this means I have lost resolution, making accurate positioning very difficult.I was surprised that such an expensive mouse would have such low resolution, no better than a cheap imported wireless mouse for a tenth of the price. It should be on a par with it's wired cousin, not inferior.Conclusion - buy the wired version. The wireless one is vastly inferior and around twice the price.

Bought this item as I've been suffering from pain on the back of my right wrist and didn't know if it was due to using a conventional mouse or playing squash. After 2 days it was clearly the mouse. This thing is worth every penny and more and is so much easier to use than I thought. Moving the pointer by moving your whole arm actually gives you more control as you have some weight to stop jerky movements. The scroll is easier than a wheel as you just click the lower buttons and drag the mouse in the direction you want to go. The further you move it, the faster it scrolls. No more rolling a wheel all day. You hold the mouse as if you would naturally rest your arm on the desk so I see why it works in terms of relieving stress on the joint. An old fashioned mouse makes you twist your wrist and stretch your fingers, not so with this. If you have wrist pain or a warm itching feeling then it is likely to be the mouse. Buy one even if you don't have pain as it will prevent the discomfort I've had for the past 12 months. Love it. Well Done 3M as usual.ERGONOMIC MOUSE, WIRELESS, LARGE ( Retail Pack)

I began to feel the benefits after a week, since the pulse was very tired. I find the position of the hand relaxed, the movement convenient and precise. However, some caution is used. Playing, the thumb and the arm are stressed too, and can serve some other device. But in a smooth web surfing is a good solution for wrist stress.
