Before I purchased this set I spent hours trawling the internet looking at various options, there aren't many retailers/manufacturers of fruit and vegetable carving tools. I found a few sets on Amazon that came in wooden cases with wooden handles etc, most likely made somewhere in the far east. I wasn't keen on the wooden handles and from reading some of the reviews the quality/sharpness seemed low.I came across this set with no reviews on Amazon, however on other sites I did find a few. All very positive, commenting on the quality and sharpness of the tools. It is also made in Germany, as with most things coming out of Germany they are of a very high standard. On receiving them I was glad I paid the extra for a far superior set. The tools and case are of a very good quality and will probably last a lifetime.If you or in most cases your wife has taken on a fruit carving as a hobby or business and you want to buy a set of tools that will last, i would highly recommend you buy this!
