I looked at a lot of towel rails before I bought this one. Many use several kilowatts per day while still advertising that they only cost pence to run. This one uses just under 1 kilowatt per day which I consider reasonable. There are two of us and it comfortably dries a bath sheet, bath towel and hand towel at the same time. The trick is to make sure the towels are folded, at least double over ( I tend to do ours in thirds) and to keep the element covered as much as possible as it cools down rapidly when left uncovered. The towels which are put back on it immediately after use are warm and dry for re-use the following morning. In rainy conditions it saves wondering where to hang them and cuts down on the amount of washing we need to do. Better for the environment and my wallet.
