If you are looking for a light to use when sewing, knitting, tapestry making etc. this light fulfils the job very well. I can also see this light being excellent for DIY folks; it would be marvellous at a workbench for close work. It can be bought without the magnifier, which can be completely removed if you wish, as is has a large clip to attach and detach it very quickly.The daylight bulb, which gives equivalent light to a 100 watt bulb, means the colours of thread or wools remain true in colour, allowing you to work on the darkest of winter evenings. It not a dazzling, glaring sort of light and therefore not tiring to work under. I can see why the reviewers of the magnifier free version find it so good for reading; it seems to produce a light which is not at all stressful to the eyes.It is easy to assemble, and although somewhat modern in design for my house, is none the less unobtrusive and easily moved to another room for perhaps working at a sewing machine or some sort of DIY project where good lighting is required.I have not given it the full 5 stars, simply because for me, the bendy arm for angling the light could have been a little longer, I think because the arms of my chair are quite wide for it to reach over, otherwise I am delighted with this purchase. It arrived very quickly and was well packaged.

My lamp arrived very quickly and was well packed. It is of sturdy construction and attractive appearance. The lamp and magnifier work well but ideally it would be slightly taller. I decided to order a spare bulb now and was delighted to speak to a nice woman on the phone. I expect delivery soon. I would recommend the item and supplier unhesitatingly.
