This looper would have got 5 stars but for the need to update operating system before you can use SD card. Whats that about ?? when I buy something I dont really want to rush to PC and start upgrading before I can use some of the facilities. So apart from that its all good stuff. Anyone I've showed it to or demoed it to has wanted one there and then!! Great sounds ( all in glorious mono ) but just straight into amp its no problem. Looper does what it does well and althogh its my first looper experience its very easy to use and great for jamming, experimenting. Drum backings are excellent and have a nice human feel to them , song backings span a wide range of styles and can help with musical ideas. A few of the Pre set sounds may have you wincing but these can be changed to suit your taste All in all a great bit of gear but marred only by forcing you to upgrade before you can use SD card.

Calling this just a looper doesn't do it justice. You can record entire songs on this. The pre-set and manual effects are ok for bedroom rock stars but I didn't buy it for that. By-passing all the effects does seem to give a true by-pass, but there's still some pre-amping. The recording quality is very good and with an SD card you can save hours of material. The built in drum loops are actual recordings of real drums so they're pretty good for backing if you are rehearsing. You can overlay on your recording as many times as you want and there is the facility to erase the last over-dub. You can also transfer pre-recorded stuff onto the SD card via a PC and play over that, which is useful for pre-recorded intro's when playing live. Solid all metal construction means it can take the knocks if you're using it live.
