very good for the money.good strong cars that stick to the track very well,and only come off if you squeeze trigger fully.good value compared to buying items seperatley.very nice present for someone ! and appears to be well made and packaged.

I bought this set as a cheaper option as I have been let down on a couple of Scalextric sets in the past and didn't want to throw good money after bad. The old set similar to this, called Bash and Crash only worked intermittently. A replacement smaller scale 1:64 micro 'Starter' set was, as other people have reviewed, cheap and nasty. I needn't have worried. This set has worked directly out of the box.The two cars that come with the set are very basic, decals for headlights (rather than working lights) and moulded in wing mirrors but this is a positive feature. This is ideal for kids who tend to spin the cars off the bends at full speed. The mirrors are usually the first thing to go and need super-glueing back on! The cars seem to be very sturdy. I am not sure if they are magnatronic but do seem to stay on the track pretty well.The track layout is also very basic, consisting of an oval with a wiggle/narrowing part but again is good quality. The parts fit together well and are the usual connection type. This means I was able to salvage some of the good track from the old set and extend this to make it more interesting. Extension packs would be a good future buy.My daughter is very pleased with it, whizzing cars around, out in the garden.The sellers despatch speed was excellent. I placed the order late Tuesday evening and it was delivered first thing Thurs morning. Brilliant.

Excellent starter Scalextric Set I purchased for my 8 years olds birthday. He loves it but will need to add on in the future I think to keep the interest going.The only fault was that it was delivered with no wrapping/outer package so my son saw what it was when it was delivered and it was supposed to be a surprise for his birthday!!!
