I've always loved boots and much preferred them over trainers as a boy, having had pretty much every different style growing up. I remember having a great pair of brown cowboy boots from the US when I was 13 or 14 and wore them to death - I thought they looked awesome with jeans and no-one else had them. Eventually I outgrew them, but couldn't find any available here then so moved on to classic Timberlands and now Frye's brilliant harness (biker) boots. But now, 15 years later, I reckoned it was time to have some proper cowboy boots once again and chose these, partly because after 3 pairs of Frye biker boots I know just how good Fryes are, and partly because they look pretty well identical to the ones I had as a kid. The girlfriend wasn't keen at first, perhaps wrongly assuming I was going to take up line-dancing and change my name to Tex, though having seen them on she's turned around and likes them for their look and nothing else, same as me.The best thing about these boots is the quality, like the biker boots I also have, which shows through in every detail. The leather is top stuff and will last forever if looked after (no exaggeration!), with just enough shine to look cool but not formal. They also have the leather lining and leather sole, which is so nicely finished it's almost a shame to walk on it and scuff it up. They just ooze quality, these boots, with that certain something both to look at and touch. Once you put them on the fit is excellent, and should improve further once they're broken in. Already they're very comfortable and this should also get even better with some wear.The other thing that sets these apart from others I've seen is there's something about the design which is quite subtle. I don't go in for the cowboy stuff in any other way - no hat, line dancing or loud shirts for me! - and these boots have a casual feel to them which just works. I wear them with plain T-shirts and bootcut jeans and have no interest in the "cowboy" thing at all, I just think the boots look good. They're smart enough to wear with my T-shirt tucked in with a brown leather belt, yet also casual enough to wear with my T-shirt loose. The toe is very pointed, more so than it appears in the pictures, but is comfortable. Likewise the heel is tall at 2 inches and if you're used to trainers they'll feel odd at first...having always worn boots I had no problem and find them comfy, but changing from my Reeboks into these you do notice it! But overall, they have a great casual look - get the right pair of jeans (Levis 507 for me) and the legs fit perfectly over these boots, leaving just the pointy toes and tall heels on show, along with the classic little pattern on the toe. Just don't wear them with anything other than jeans and don't tuck skinny jeans into them, this isn't the ranch...Downsides? They need breaking in, as with all boots, and you'll need to wear long socks (eg. football socks) while breaking them in or the tops will rub your legs. Also, like most high-quality footwear the leather sole is smooth as glass until you've walked around outside for a bit and roughened them, so be careful while breaking them in around your house! But that's it. These boots are good-looking but casual, cool with jeans, comfortable, and beautifully made. Like my other Fryes they really are worth every penny and need to be seen to do them justice.

Bought these boots for my boyfriend. They look great, better than the picture. I've also been told that they are really comfortable. Very happy with my purchase.

Nice classic design, high quality and very comfortable fit!I have been wearing boots for about 20 years now, mainly Sendra and Tony Mora... but I have to say I had few boots with a fit as comfortable as these. The 'build quality' is very high, handcrafted with care.I would definitely buy another pair of Frye boots if I bump into some nice ones for the same kind of price.
