Received today and wow, what a large box! The sub is slightly bigger than the sub from the logitech z5500. Even though it's a 2.1 system the sound is superb. Great bass, mid range and tweeter. Some rewiews mention the slight lack of midrange, I would have to disagree. If you want very loud but clear system this is the one for you! The quality of sound definately beats the logitech Z5500.Also the build quality is superb, unlike the many poor quality items I've received from logitech over several years of buying there products.

Simply amazing although it isn't quite as loud as the z5500 the bass packs a bigger punch and the speakers sound a lot clearer

I bought this speaker system as I am at Uni and could not carry my Stereo system from home. I have a Denon Amp with Wharfedale Speakers and separate subwoofer, so it was interesting to see how this system compared (price difference will be mentioned). Mainly used for music from laptop/ipod and watching films. Firstly, wow the subwoofer is heavy, but it is built very well, as are the speakers. The control panel is easy to use, however i do wonder how robust it will to heavy use in the future. the small wireless remote is a nice touch. The speakers have a nice weight to them.The sound quality is very good, and I am most impressed that even at level 50 (which is very loud!) the sub and speakers still deliver, and do not break up). The sub is deep and powerful, however i feel the 10 inch mission sub i have at home is more bassy. The system sounds better at louder volumes. for example watching a film. the bass of explosions, and crispness of the speakers work well together. The bass from the sub makes up for the lack of midrange of the speakers. but at average or low volumes i feel the speakers are not big enough and lack midrange. I don't understand why the speakers are so small compared to the sub!Over all the system is well made, easy to set up and use and does sound good for the price. But I feel it needs to make its mind up wether it is a part time computer speaker system or a "use every day" home sound system. I you have slightly more money to play with, I would buy a separate amp, sub, and speakers and create my own system. This gives you a chance to upgrade components as either your ear or wallet matures.
