This is perfect for getting a nice rolling boil on a 30 plus litre batch of wort. Its 40 litre capacity is great as it allows a good space at the top to account for foam etc. It reached active boiling state at around the 50-60 min mark.The dial goes up to 110 which is a great feature as you can maintain a good heat/rolling boil for a duration suitable for promoting all the desireable qualities of the wort and hop extraction.No cut outs or need to turn off and on again to reset thermostat.Things to bear in mind. No hop filter. This is not a problem though as using a hop bag eliminates the hassle of a tap block. Also the tap and hole looks perfect for adaption for the purpose.It cleaned up really well after my session and I plan to adapt it a bit, but its very good how it arrives really. This for the money was an excellent purchase, and having compared other options this came up as one of the most affordable options.The service from Nisbits was very good and they delivered next day for free!

This is a great boiler for homebrew,.Upgrade the tap to a ball valve, fit a hop filter and away you go.

Got this specifically for Doing All Grain brewing, as it was recommended on some forums.The temperature control is very precise for getting boils going, but measure properly anyway. This allows a variety of step mashes. I found that it would hit the mash temperature in 20-30 minutes, which was faster than I expected. The lid is a solid fit, and the steam escape valves are easily sealed with sellotape when you want to steam-sanitise the internals and leave to cool down after a boil. The faucet is a spring lever - mind you don't hit it during the boil, but it drains fast. It is replaceable too, if you want to install a standard brewing tap with hop strainer, regular lever etc. (Pictures, including some internals are here: [...] )The 40L capacity is important - as it will hit target volumes in the 22+ L mark. Also, the 40L capacity is not to the brim of the unit, there is headroom if you overdo the grain or starting water. For reference, 33L water + 6Kg of grain puts you under the 40L mark on the inside.I practice no-chill, and I found that the unit takes about 8 -10 hours to chill down to pitching temperature.
