5Outstanding - cannot fault one little bit.
By G. Martin
I received this monitor about 2 months ago now and I have to say I am incredibly impressed with it.It came promptly, well packaged, with monitor, stand, small instruction booklet (getting started guide) and a CD.It has a lovely glossy black finish with a clear bezel at the bottom of the screen. It is a fantastic looking monitor and the buttons on the bottom are touch sensitive. When you tap the on button the lights on the buttons fade in and the screen comes on, the same when you turn it off, but the buttons fade out. The settings buttons are only lit up when you use them which is rarely because the settings are so easy to fiddle with and very clearly laid out. There are a couple of fun settings on the monitor one called "smart" and one called "fun" these does various things like auto adjusting, also they can change the image colour to make it black and white, negative or sepia etc. It's native resolution is 1920 x 1080 which is true HD, it has a 2ms response time and a 50000:1 contrast ratio, it produces a very clear very beautiful image.Plugging it in via the DVI connection was simple, the graphics card (NV 8800GTS) recognised it for what it was instantly and set it straight to it's native resolution.DO buy this monitor, I cannot fault it one little bit.

5Top quality monitor
By C. Grant
Worked straight out of the box with Windows 7, displaying stunning wallpaper images using either the digital (DVI) or analogue (VGA) cables supplied. There is no discernible variation in back lighting brightness.A UK mains (kettle) cable is also provided that plugs directly into the monitor. It doesn't use a separate DC power supply unit like its 19" predecessor. Even so it is much lighter and consumes only 42 watts in use and 1 watt on standby so there could be significant annual savings there. This is a good looking piece of kit, with smart touch controls that light up as your finger approaches. The monitor also has a 'magic eye' on the front that automatically adjusts the brightness with changes in ambient lighting (with auto bright on), a nice touch that really works well. So no fiddly adjustments necessary between daytime and evening use.Possible down-sides are that it cannot be wall mounted and there is no height adjustment, but neither is a problem for me. Other than that I am struggling to find anything negative to say about it.

4great picture shame about the controls
By sergio
This monitor has 2 input ports on the back. one is DVI (digital) and the other is a 15 pin VGA type (analog). The digital image looks good at full resolution but this is not true of the analog image. 1024 x 768 is OK but if you go higher it starts to look unfocused.Connecting 2 computers to this monitor (one to the analog input and the other to the digital input) and using a KVM (keyboard video mouse switch box)to switch between computers can get very frustrating. This is because the monitor seems to default to digital powersave mode whenever the computer it is servicing goes into powersave mode. If this happens to be the one on the analog port, you can't get the display to wake up by simply touching the keyboard or mouse. Instead you need to play with the controls to get the monitor out of digital powersave and back to servicing the analog port. The monitor controls are in the form of touch sensors at the bottom of the display (on the frame not the screen). These touch sensors are a real curse to use when the monitor is in digital power save mode, taking many attempts to get it back out of powersave and to display an analog picture.I guess the only real way around this situation is not to use the analog port.If you want a good picture and your PC has a DVI capable graphics card then this is a good monitor. If you are looking to use high resolution analog from your PC then I really cannot recommend this monitor. If you're the sort of person that gets frustrated and breaks thinks when bottons don't respond then this is DEFINATELY not the monitor for you!
