Not Cheap but Excellent Quality
By David Gracey
I bought the Weber only after reading hundreds of reviews of this grill and its competitors. It seemed the right balance between quality and price. The first thing I noticed when the Box arrived (by the way it is enormous) was that the grill is manufactured in China - I must have missed that from the other reviews. Despite that the quality is really impressive. Everthing fitted together perfectly. The pictorial instructions where clear and easily understood. Assembly took about an hour and a half for 2 people. I went for the small 5kg bottle which fits inside the compartment - this is a big advantage to my mind over some other grills. I dont want a huge ugly gas bottle on display. Connection was extremely easy. It started first time and reached a really high temperature 250 degrees C + in about 6 minutes.Cooking on the grill is an absolute pleasure. Up to now I was a charcoal only griller and a bit obsessive about it - I would not use lighter fluid because I thought it would affect the taste. So I guess I had low expectations as to the end result with Gas Grilling. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. I still think Charcoal provides a slightly more complex flavour but I am not convinced I could tell the difference in a 'blind test' - especially when you add some soaked wood chips at the start of cooking. Incidentally dont waste money on a smoker - make a small parcel out of tin foil to contain the soaked wood chips, pierce the top several times and place below the grill (front left). However having the gass grill means we grill perhaps 4 times as much. It is just so easy. I used it the other day to cook a bacon sandwich :-) The side burner is usefull although to my mind not essential. All in all I am really happy with the purchase. Personally I think it is worth the undoubted premium you pay for buying Weber. Just don't look at how much cheaper Weber grill (and the entire Weber range) is in the US....unfortunately that WILL leave a bad taste in your mouth! I thought this could be the extra shipping costs from the US - but then that was before I knew it was manufactured in China.

Weber E320 Premium
By Amazonian
This is a fantastic piece of kit. The quality is excellent and you will not be disappointed. It's like having a gas cooker in the garden. The whole unit is self assembly so do ensure you have enough space and time to build it carefully. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. This version does not come with a cover so be warned. I built mine and had to keep it in my lounge until I ordered a cover. As this is a gas bbq it means that within a few minutes you can have it fired up and ready to cook. Very handy for impromptu events.I've been looking for one for about 3 years and really did not want to pay £500+ for one. So I was patient and waited until the end of season and managed to bag one for £320 at B&Q. If you have decided you want one then bide your time and wait until next year when the sales are on again.
